Peter Tosh’s wife.  Maricia Tosh.  I was walking today up the hills above Kingston as I do on down days, when I came across this woman who happens to be Peter Tosh’s wife.  At first I didn’t believe her but when she went to her house and brought back 15-20 images of her with him including some wedding pictures, trips to Africa, and her with his signature M16 guitar I figured she was wasn’t lying.  Sadly she said she has some bullet scars in her head from being in the same room when he was assassinated.

She said she was going to start writing bio about their relationship and asked if I can write (I can’t) or if I knew publisher (I don’t) but I figured I would put this out there and if someone is interested and wants interview her or write her bio please let me know and I will put you in touch with her.

I photographed every picture she had.  Most of these images that I will post are original and I imagine have never been viewed by the public.  She kept them in a small envelope and some had been water damaged, scratched, or bent, so I felt like getting them copied before something else happened would be a good idea.

After viewing all the pictures I asked a few questions about various outfits and other things I could think of, and the funniest part was learning that Peter was really into unicycles?  Go figure?  “He was fit” she said.  I never thought of unicycle enthusiasts being “fit” but I guess they are.  According her.  The image of him in Africa wearing the red shirt looking 7 feet tall is actually him riding a uni in the middle of Swaziland.  Pretty funny thinking about him riding down a dirt road with a uni.  Probably the only unicycle in all of Swaziland…
